Sorry I haven't been blogging recently. I've been at school. I'm going to do iOS 7 soon.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

I love the Percy Jackson books. I thought the film would be boring and be like the book. I was wrong. The film was amazing and it wasn't completely copying the book (that's a good thing). I got more suprises. There were also some very funny bits. Also, Tantulus from the book wasn't in it. In the film, Percy, Clarisse, Annabeth, Tyson and Grover go to find the Golden Fleece so Thalia's tree can survive. But is this a good or bad thing?

I would rate this film

5/5

The Smurfs 2

I really liked the first Smurfs film I saw 2 years ago. I hoped The Smurfs 2 would be just as good. It wasn't. Smufette got captured and 4 other smurfs tried to save her from the now-famous Gargamel. That simple sentence was dragged out into 105  minutes! Some of it was exciting, some not. I know that this was a short review but I'm going to rate it now.

2/5

Dr Who

I like Dr Who. It's very exciting.

What I like about Dr Who

It's exciting.
It's funny.
It's creepy.
There are lots of episode to watch.
When the Dr regenerates, his personality can change.
The Dr himself gets older, but the actors can be young then old.

What I dislike about Dr Who

I haven't heard of Peter Capaldi, the 12th Dr!

I would rate Dr Who

The Beano

I'm going to be making up questions and then answering them.

When did I start reading The Beano?

I started reading The Beano at the end of 2009, about 4 years ago.

What's my favourite Beano comic?

It used to be Dennis the Menace, but now it's when the Beano characters have an adventure together.

Do I like Beano Turbo Battlerz?

Yes.

Do I ever read Dennis the Menace and Gnasher magazine?

Yes.

What's my favourite bit of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher magazine?

I like reading the comics that 'used to be owned by Dennis'.

What would I rate The Beano and Dennis the Menace and Gnasher (Beano Max)?

5/5

The Competition Kid

I was in my bedroom, reading my TWO favourite stories,

when I heard a VERY loud noise coming from outside.

I thought it was probably just a BIG spaceship flying past, so I carried on reading.

I only had a few pages to finish when Mum started SHOUTING at me to come

downstairs.

“HURRY UP!” she called.

What now, I wondered?

Mum sounded a bit cross.

“Have you been entering competitions again?” she asked me,

while pointing to the doorway.

“NO I haven’t!” I said. (Which was true – not since the last time.)

“Then what do you call THIS?”

I had no idea what was in the box. It could have been toys, games, money or even a console. But I had no idea! Then I realised I had entered a competition. I must've won! The next morning, at 2:54 am, I crept down to open the box. What the things inside it were? I had no idea. Hundreds of little creatures came out holding a note. The note said 'Ha-ha. You thought you won a competition. Instead, you won ants!' I felt like I was about to explode. Only one person would send me these. That would be my enemy, Frank. The next day at school, I saw Frank. As always, we didn’t speak to each other. I looked at him and he laughed at me. With hundreds of loose ants around my house, what could I do? Ask Frank to come and collect them? He would never do that. I could do something naughty in school and blame him. I decided I would do graffiti on the classroom walls at break time, when no one would be there. When I was doing this I heard the door open and there was the Head Teacher, watching me graffiti the classroom. I was in such big trouble. I got expelled! I wonder what my mum would’ve thought of this. I told the Head Teacher that Frank had sent me a box of ants and I was getting revenge. That (obviously) didn’t help. The next day I was in the local newspaper. There was a shop dedicated to chalk which had to shut down as no one wanted to be seen with chalk anymore. When I got home, I realised it wasn’t from Frank. I had posted myself the box. It was my handwriting. I posted it a year ago and I never received it. I just got expelled while getting revenge on myself. How could I have been so stupid? That was the worst day of my life!

Cool Candle

When I was recently on holiday, my mum bought a candle holder with 'chocolate' (it was wax)! You lit a tea light at the bottom of the holder and put some 'chocolate' on top. When we blew out the tea light, we left the scented 'chocolate' on the top of the holder. When it hardened, my mum tried to get it out. Then she realised that she could slide it out. The photo is of what the Cool (cold, not hot and amazing) Candle looks like now. The place I got it from is On A Wick and A Prayer: www.onawick.co.uk

The bit with the 'chocolate' is here: http://www.onawick.co.uk/categories.php?category=The-Original-Wax-Bars

Whipsnade zoo

On Saturday 10th August 2013, I went to Whipsnade zoo. When I was there, I saw: lemurs, wolverines, bears, penguins, elephants, giraffes, reindeer and more! It was very fun, especially the big slide. Out of 10, I would rate it...

9/10!

We saw the penguins being fed. At lunch, we could see flamingos. We also went on the steam train.

My favourite bit of the day was seeing the sea lion (NOT seal) show. During the show, sea lions jumped out of the pool with hoses, climbed up stairs and jump to high balls making a big splash. We learnt that sea lions and seals are different. Seals are boring while sea lions are not boring at all.

That's all I have to say apart from YOU SHOULD GO TO WHIPSNADE!

Photos soon!

BA Silent Picturehouse Kids

On Sunday (28th July 2013) I went to a British Airways event called Silent Picturehouse. They had done them the whole week. The day I went was a day with children's films. The choices were: The Muppets, Oz the Great and Powerful, Cars 2, Alice in wonderland or Up. I watched The Muppets. It was actually the third time I've watched The Muppets! At the end, children got goody bags. The included: biscuits, a chocolate lolly, a bag with activities inside, a bottle of water, a book to keep track of how far you've flown, a carton of juice, top trumps and a poster for the film Planes.
The website is here.

Now some photos:

Sulley holding an balloon octopus and a balloon teddy bear on his other shoulder (look closely).

I am standing in front of a Muppet 3D poster.

Dr Who prom

Today I went to the Royal Albert Hall for the Dr Who prom! It was amazing. Matt Smith and Jenna Colemen were there! Matt's hair looked very funny.

At the prom there were Daleks, Cybermen, Saturnyns, an Ice Warrior and more! They showed videos of all 11 Doctors. The fifth doctor was there. So was the actress that played Susan, the First Doctor's grandchild. There was even a new song called song for 50! I thought it was amazing. Listen to the prom here. THIS LINK DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE.

Candy Castle

In my music lesson at school, we all created a song based on a land that we thought of. My group did a land made entirely of sweets. Even the chocofall (chocolate waterfall). The song's to the tune of Frère Jacques.

The lyrics are:

Candy Castle x2
Made of sweets x2
Choco-choco-chocolate x2
Made of sweets x2

Then (not to the tune of Frère Jacques) I rap:

Candy Castle x2
Made of sweets x2
Chocofall x2
Made of sweets, yeah x2

The
Horrifically
Exciting adventures of Barnaby.

Dark pickles, are they Barnaby's dad?
Exhilarating and magical.
An imaginary car that runs on vinegar.
The best book I've recently read.
Ho-flay pickles, what are they?
Locked cellar, mysterious.
You will adore this book.

Barnaby, an adventurous boy.
Of course it's good.
Granny Hogsflesh, who is she?

Origami

As you probably know, there are lots of different origami models you can create. This could be anything from a simple cup to an intricate elephant. I have been doing origami for 1.583 years and have made lots of things. Some were really simple, some more difficult. My favourite models were the transforming ninja star, koala bear in a tree, bow tie and gift box.

Temple Run vs Temple Run 2

Hello again! This post is going to be a battle between Temple Run 1 and 2!

First I'm going to say that temple run is amazing but what could make it better? Well, in temple run you only have 30 seconds before your coming back to life power has run out. In temple run 2 you earn gems. These gems are then saved so if you want to come back to come back to life you just have to have saved 1 gem. If you've already used a gem and you die again at the same time, you use 2 gems. Then 4 gems then (I'm guessing) 8 gems etc. Also, in temple run 2 you can go underground in a mine. I'm not sure if you could do this in temple run. Finally, I'm going to say that in temple run 2 I found it easier to go further distances than I did in temple run.
I know I haven't written much, but that is the end of this post.

Overall, I would rate temple run...           1/5        2/5       2.2/5

I would rate temple run 2...         1/5      2/5       3/5        4/5     4.5/5

New Super Mario Brothers 2

As you have probably guessed, this game is the sequel to New Super Mario Brothers. I love Mario and I this this is a very good one. At the beginning, Mario and Luigi are flying and collecting coins. Once they land, they start to walk. They get interupted by the koopalings and you see that the koopalings have captured Princess Peach, like they always do. Then, as always, you have to control mario and get the the final castle. In each world you battle some rhinos and try to defeat a koopalings. In the final world, you have to defeat bowser. Once this is done, bowser comes back to life and shoots trys to hit you. The aim is to get higher and higher till you have reached a button that destroys Bowser. Also, there are 3 extra worlds. 2 are unlocked by completing the world 1 and 3 cannons and the other is unlocked with 90 star coins.

I would rate this game 10/10

This post is a blurb for the Curse of the Bogle's Beard...

Meet Barnaby. He is very adventurous but when Barnaby's dad disappears, it is up to Barnaby to prove to his mum that Granny Hogsflesh is responsible. But how responsible is she? Is she even slightly responsible? When Barnaby is forced to move into her house, things start to become weird. Creepy noises in the night, rooms becoming messy with no one there and a mysterious locked cellar. But soon Barnaby discovers a book and a diary with secrets about his grandma that his mum didn't know about...
